The 7th Turkish Film Festival was launched on April 22 in Sarajevo, opening with Ozhan Eren’s “Son Mektup” (The Last Letter).

Organized by the Turkish Embassy’s culture and tourism office, the festival will run until April 27, showing six films.

“2015 is the 100th anniversary of victory of the battle at Çanakkale, so we will launch the festival with this film [The Last Letter],” said Soner Şahin, the embassy’s culture and tourism officer.

The film tells the story of a letter written during the Battle of Çanakkale, which arrives years later.

“Mucize” (Miracle) by Mahsun Kırmızıgül, “Aşk Tesadüfleri Sever” (Love Likes Coincidences) by Ömer Faruk Sorak, “Kelebeğin Rüyası” (The Butterfly’s Dream) by Yılmaz Erdoğan, “Bir Zamanlar Anadolu’da” (Once upon a time in Anatolia) by Nuri Bilge Ceylan and “Fetih 1453” (The Conquest 1453) by Faruk Aksoy are all to be shown at the festival.  After Sarajevo, the 7th Turkish Film Festival will move to Zenica.
