A Turkish agricultural engineer has gone missing after having departed from the Mediterranean province of Antalya to fly to the Russian capital of Moscow, his family has said. The family of 36-year-old agricultural engineer Altan Güngör living in the Tarsus district of southern province of Mersin has said they have not heard from their son in the last nine days, adding that they had referred the issue to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, fearing for Güngör’s life.
Güngör works as a consultant to different companies in Russia and frequently makes business visits abroad, according to his father, 63-year-old İsmet Güngör.
Father Güngör said they had thought this last visit was also a normal business trip but had learned from his co-workers that he had not been in contact with his company after going to Russia’s city Orenburg from Moscow.
Güngör said they were worried about their sons’ life, as he had not gone where he was scheduled to go.
He also said they had contacted the Foreign Ministry, which had informed the consulate who would look into the incident.
“We want to see our child alive,” said İsmet Güngör.
