Turkish company inks 224 mln-euro subway deal in Ukraine

The 4.5-kilometer subway line will be composed of three train stations that pass through the central parts of the city, according to a press release, which was sent on July 28. 

The construction is expected to be completed in the next five years in line with the tender specifications, said the company. 

“We have seen this contract as a crucial beginning for us in Ukraine. Even though the construction time was set at five years, we are sure about that we will complete the whole work earlier than this date at a high quality. We plan to complete the project in the next four years,” said Limak Holding board member Serdar Bacaksız, who signed the contract with Dnipropetrovsk Mayor Borys Filatov. 

The tender process of the project lasted for 4.5 years, he noted. 

More than 30 foreign construction companies presented bids in the subway tender. The whole project will be financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank, according to the press release.
