A Bursa court has issued a detention order for former daily Vakit columnist Hüseyin Üzmez, who was released in a case of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl, B.Ç., after the Supreme Court of Appeals approved a prison sentence against him, daily Hürriyet reported today.

Üzmez, 80, will reportedly be arrested for the third time in the same case and serve 13 years, one month and 15 days in prison when he is captured.

The top court also asked to retake the testimony of B.Ç.'s mother, who was released before.

The Bursa court released Üzmez from prison in 2011 and suspended his 13-year sentence due to the time he had already spent in jail.

The former columnist was arrested for the first time in 2009 on charges of having a sexual relationship with B.Ç. with her mother’s knowledge.
