A rocket fired from Syria hit the garden of a group of military housing buildings in Turkey’s Kilis, while two others fell on an empty area near a courthouse in the southeastern province on March 12.
The projectile which hit the housing did not explode, but damage was seen on one of the buildings.
The third projectile, which exploded after hitting the area one-and-a-half hours after the first two, was reported to have Arabic letters written on it.
After the incident, which caused no deaths or injuries, security forces enhanced measures and cleared the area of civilians. Bomb disposal teams were also dispatched to the area to conduct a wide-ranging search.
Other areas in the Syrian border town of Kilis have been hit by rockets fired from Syria recently. Two people, including a toddler, were killed and several others were wounded on March 8 when eight Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) rocket projectiles hit the town.
