Turkish cinema meets with Paris audience

The Ninth Paris Turkish Cinema Week will begin March 30 under the direction of a Turkish migrants’ association, L’Acort.

The festival, which gathers together many important and new Turkish movies, will take place at the Filmotheque du Quartier Latin movie theaters. Another of Turkish films will be screened, including Ümit Ünal’s “Nar” (Pomegranate), as well as “11’e 10 kala” (10 to 11) by Pelin Esmer; “Labirent” (Labyrinth) by Tolga Örnek; “Gölgeler ve Suretler” (Shadows and Faces) by Derviş Zaim; “Ay büyürken uyuyamam” (No Sleep while the Moon is Rising) by Şerif Gören; “Turkuaz” (Turqoise) by Kadir Balcı; “Yangın Var” (In Flames) by Murat Saraçoğlu; “Türk Pasaportu” (Turkish Passport) by Cem Arliel; and “Geçmiş Mazi Olmadı Mı?” (Did the Past Pass?) by Mehmet Özgür.

The Ninth Paris Turkish Cinema Week will end April 8. There will be also seminars and meetings about Turkish cinema and the development of Turkish cinema. The talks will also feature the movies on the screen.
