Turkish artist selected to board of IAA Europe

The International Association of Art (IAA) has elected renowned Turkish painter Bedri Baykam to the executive board of IAA Europe.
The decision was made during the eighth general meeting of the association, which took place between Oct. 28 and Oct. 30 in Berlin.
Baykam and Erdurak to represent Turkey
Turkey was represented at the meeting by Baykam, the International Plastic Arts Association (UPSD) Turkey National Committee chairman, as well as the committee’s secretary-general, Safiye Mine Erdurak.
Slovakia National Committee Chairman Pavol Kral was also elected as the term president at the meeting.
Istanbul and Madrid competed against each other at the meeting to earn the right to form the next IAA Europe general committee in 2012. Istanbul was chosen unanimously to organize the committee.
Baykam delivered a speech after the decisions were announced and said the UPSD would start working immediately so that the general committee can be held successfully next year in Istanbul
