Turkish art of rosary on view in Abu Dhabi

More than 4,000 rare handmade artistic rosaries are shown in the exhibit.

Over 4,000 rare works of art valued at approximately 100 million dollars are on display are at Abu Dhabi Emirates Palace Hotel in “Turkish Rosary Art Neziroğlu Collection.”

The collection, which belongs to Turkish businessman Berat Serdar Neziroğlu, includes 255 unique pieces made of valuable materials like diamonds, diamond jewelry, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, ivory and gold.

The more than 4,000 rare handmade artistic rosaries in the collection were created by 66 Turkish artists.

The works reflect the Ottoman art mainly consisting of the beads on which prayers are written. The collection, which was brought together over years, is worth approximately 100 million dollars and qualified as one of the most valuable collections in the world.

Neziroğlu said in a statement that as a result of long research, he became able to distinguish the difference between normal rosaries and rosaries with artistic value.

The exhibition will continue until June 30.
