Turkish acting legend Müşfik Kenter dies at 80

Veteran Turkish theater actor Müşfik Kenter, who inspired a generation of actors, died today after a long battle with cancer. He was 80.
 
Kenter, aside from acting in countless theater plays, also acted in movies and TV series and provided voiceovers for documentaries and cartoons. 
 
Kenter won over the Turkish television audience with his voice acting in the Turkish-dubbed version of the American TV show "Alf," where he lent his voice to the friendly alien character.

The mentor of many artists in Turkey, Kenter is also known for giving voice to the poems of the famed Turkish poet Orhan Veli.
 
The recipient of numerous awards and honors, Kenter is survived by his wife, Kadriye Kenter, and sister Yıldız Kenter, who is an actress.
