Turkey's unemployment rate decreases

Turkey’s unemployment rate decreased by 2.1 points in 2011 compared to the previous year, dropping to an overall 9.8 percent, according to Anatolia News Agency.
The current unemployment rate in urban areas is 11.9 percent and 5.8 percent in rural areas.
In terms of unemployed individuals, the number has dropped by 431,000, going from 3,046,000 to 2,615,000, according to daily Hürriyet.
Employment rose from 22,594,000 to 24,110,000.
