Turkey’s top 100 firms no match for Apple’s brand

The brand value of Turkey’s top 100 firms do not even equal half of the brand value of U.S. computer giant Apple, according to a study conducted by international consultancy Brand Finance.The study found that Turkey’s top 100 firms do not even have a brand value amounting to $33 billion, which would still be less than half of Apple’s $70.6 billion brand value.
Among the Turkish firms, Türk Telekom takes the lead with a $2.2 billion brand value. Türk Telekom is followed by İşbank, Turkcell, Akbank, Garanti Bank, Turkish Airlines, Efes Beer, Yapı Kredi Bank, Arçelik and BIM.
The total brand value of these firms in 2011 was $32.9 billion, according to Brand Finance. With this figure, Turkey’s top 100 firms were only able to equal the brand value of General Electric (GE).
Apple, meanwhile, jumped seven spots in one year to capture first place with a brand value of $70.6 billion, making it the world’s most valuable brand.
