Turkey’s Kron eyes contracts for Wi-Fi services at Qatar World Cup stadiums
ISTANBUL
The Istanbul-based company may yield as much as $1 million for each stadium, Lütfi Yenel said in a July 25 interview.
Krontech Inc., a Kron unit, established this month in New York, is in talks with three U.S. companies as it seeks to become a “disruptive” force in the country, Yenel added.
Kron offers four flagship products for large networks, including software for access management, real-time network analysis and Wi-Fi services, and Turkey’s three top mobile operators are among its clients, Bloomberg noted.
Kron reported sales worth 14.6 million liras ($4.8 million) and profits of 6.22 million liras in 2015, and targets a 20 percent increase in sales this year. Its shares quadrupled in 2015, making it the top performer on Borsa Istanbul. Sales in the U.S. are expected to be double those of Turkey by 2020, Yenel said.
