Turkey’s Erdoğan gives mandate to PM to form new government

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu the mandate to form a new government on Nov. 17, the Turkish Presidency has stated.

“The president has accepted Konya deputy and Justice and Development Party [AKP] chair Ahmet Davutoğlu in the ‘Presidential Külliye’ and given the mandate to form the 64th Government today,” the statement said, referring to the controversial presidential palace in Ankara.
