Turkey’s car and light commercial vehicle sales boosted almost 6 percent year-on-year in September, Automotive Distributors’ Association said in a statement on Oct. 3.
The number of automobiles and light commercial vehicles sold in the month stood at 71,352, up from 67,593 in the same month last year, according to the statement.
However, it said the market slightly shrank by 1.4 percent in the first nine months of the year, reaching 627,343. The statement added that cars constituted the bulk of sales in the same period, with 476,621 automobiles that had been sold.
Last year, the overall Turkish auto sales market hit a record with nearly one million sales—983,720—with 32 percent from domestic vehicles.
