Turkey uses more electricity
ISTANBUL- Hürriyet Daily News
Turkey expects to consume 229 billion kilowatts of electricity by the end of 2011, according to Deloitte Turkey’s Energy and Natural Resources Industry Partner Sibel Çetinkaya. This exceeds the anticipated 225 billion kilowatt figure. There was a 9.5 percent increase in Turkey’s electricity consumption in the first 11 months of 2011 compared to last year, Çetinkaya said at the Hilton Hotel meeting organized by Deloitte. Çetinkaya said electricity demand was down in 2009 due to the global economic crisis. However, last year the effects of the crisis had waned, leading to higher electricity consumption.
