Turkey to ‘take all steps within free market rules’
ANKARA
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has stressed that medium and long-term plans were majorly completed for Turkey to develop and grow within the scope of free market economy principles.
“We will not allow for producers, consumers and those attempting to become monopolized to be exploited. We will take all our steps in accordance with free market rules,” he said May 2 at the general assembly of Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) in the capital Ankara.
The way to Turkey’s abundance is through the strengthening of the private sector, according to Erdoğan, who also pledged to focus on structural reforms to achieve this goal.
“We will continue to discourage the doomsters,” he added.
The president also underlined that Turkey is rising, adding that it is not possible for market fluctuations to emerge.
Many financial troubles of Turkey remain unsolved, Erdoğan said, while conveying the determinacy of the government to bring exchange, interest and inflation rates down to target levels.
“We will all win if we have faith in our country and trust in our nation,” he said.
“We have the will power to undertake the risks and will use the next four years as efficiently as possible,” he added.
