Turkey ranks second in European wrestling

Turkish wrestlers in men's freestyle and Greco-Roman categories finished at the second place in the 2019 European Wrestling Championships in Romania.
Turkish wrestlers won 16 medals - 6 golds, 2 silvers and 8 bronze - in the 2019 championship which ended on April 14.
With 16 medals, Turkey bagged its highest ever number of medals in the European Wrestling Championships.
Turkey won two golds, one silver medal and two bronze medals in men's Greco-Roman category and three golds, one silver medal and three bronze medals in men's freestyle.
Turkey's Rıza Kayaalp won his ninth European title and eighth in a row, while Taha Akgül claimed his seventh and Yasemin Adar won her fourth.
Turkish wrestlers in women's freestyle also won one gold and three bronze medals in the tournament and ranked third.
