Turkey ranks 6th in car sales in Europe markets

Turkey ranked sixth in automobile sales in Europe in October, stepping up two places from the eighth place ranking in September, according to figures by the Automotive Distributors’ Association (ODD).
Meanwhile, European automobile market shrank 1.4 percent in October, when compared to October 2010. The strongest shrinkage was posted in Ireland with 51.8 percent, then Portugal with 40.5 percent and Greece with 35.7 percent.
The top three countries increasing their automobile sales in October compared to the same month last year were Iceland with 155.2 percent, Latvia with 111.6 percent and Estonia with 34.3 percent.
