Turkey launches operation to rescue migrants in Aegean

A rescue operation was launched on July 13 to save around 30 undocumented migrants stranded on an island off the coast of the Aegean province of İzmir, Turkey security sources said.
The Turkish Coast Guard Command sent teams and helicopters to rescue some 25-30 foreign national migrants trapped on Boğaz Island off Cesme, Izmir, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The operation is still underway.
