Turkey hits ISIL targets in northern Syria

ANKARA
Turkey hit a number of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) targets in northern Syria with howitzers early on June 13.

A vehicle with Katyusha rockets which was planning to attack Turkey was destroyed, while two buildings and two weapon-launching positions were also hit, according to security sources.

Meanwhile, warplanes belonging to the U.S.-led coalition against ISIL also conducted airstrikes in Syria’s Tughali region.

Five militants were killed as a result of the airstrikes and howitzer firings, according to initial reports.
