Turkey detains 10 in ISIL raids

Turkish authorities have detained 10 suspects in raids in northwestern Turkey as part of a probe into potential Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) members, police have said.The 10 suspects were taken into custody after Turkish police carried out parallel raids at multiple addresses in the northwestern province of Sakarya on the night of March 1.
The authorities did not share any further information regarding the details of the investigation.
On Feb. 5, a Turkish citizen was arrested for being a member of ISIL for the first time in Turkey.
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has said an estimated 500-700 Turkish nationals are fighting alongside ISIL in Syria and Iraq.
Çavuşoğlu has also said Ankara is concerned about potential attacks by jihadists after returning to Turkey.
