Turkey’s leading telecommunications and technology company Turkcell has joined a select group of international companies that have inspired Harvard Business School case studies.

The case study on Turkcell has recently been published and will initially be taught on the school’s MBA program as a part of the required curriculum.

It was prepared by Harvard Business School Professor Felix Oberholzer-Gee and Assistant Professor Charles C.Y. Wang.

“Harvard Business School students, specifically MBA students will find a lot to learn within the story of Turkcell, which has become fairly successful in highly competitive Turkish telecommunications market,” said Oberholzer-Gee.

“Turkcell, Turkey’s only company listed on the NYSE, has been the market leader for years … It is a great honor for us to see Turkcell considered an inspiring story by Harvard Business School,” Turkcell CEO Süreyya Ciliv has said.

Turkcell is a leading regional player with its approximately 71.1 million subscribers in nine countries as of Sept. 30, 2014, according to the company’s official website.
