TÜBİTAK head denies responsibility in report
ISTANBUL - Hürriyet Daily News
The head of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) has replied to the remarks of a defendant’s lawyer in the OdaTV case, who had said that TÜBİTAK’s second report lacked scientific approach.TÜBİTAK head Yücel Altunbaşak told reporters yesterday in Bursa that the court demanded the assignment of five people from TÜBİTAK’s institutes as experts, but that the court had itself assigned experts after TÜBİTAK sent a list to the court.
“From that point on, this case bears no relation to TÜBİTAK. The three people who wrote that report are actually working for TÜBİTAK, so it is described as a ‘TÜBİTAK report.’ Actually, this expression is not correct. It should be described as ‘a report issued by three experts from TÜBİTAK,’ instead,” Altunbaşak said.
