Transportation service to be privatized

ISTANBUL
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is to partially privatize the capital’s transport service for 10 years, according to the Official Gazette on Feb. 8.

A new system that will include electronic fee collection, routing vehicle tracking, camera and smart bus stops will be offered in a tender on March 5. The winner will found this new system by obtaining its operating rights for 10 years.

While the estimated offer has been determined at 187 million Turkish Liras, the temporary assurance is 5.6 million liras.

It is a required condition for the bidders to have already conducted electronic fee collection in at least two metropolitan municipalities for at least two years.
