Tourism revenues to jump
ANKARA - Reuters
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and the TOurism Ministry are cooperating on a better method of calculating tourism revenues, Minister Ertuğrul Günay said yesterday, adding that the new method will go into effect in 2013. “I forecast that TÜİK will declare more than $25 billion for this year, but the real tourism revenues will be over $30 billion,” he told Reuters. Last year’s tourism revenues were reached $23 billion according to TÜİK, which Ertuğrul had criticized as below the actual figure.
