Top level mission to represent Turkey in Davos

Turkey will be represented at the upcoming Davos meeting with a high-level delegation including Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, who will be marking an end to his predecessors’ boycott, and the country’s top business representative Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

Davutoğlu will be present at the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos, marking the end of a six-year Turkish boycott led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who stormed out during a panel on the Gaza war in 2009.

The prime minister will deliver the closing speech on “Turkey’s vision for the G-20” on Jan. 22, as Turkey assumed the presidency of the international group at the beginning of the year.

The Turkish business world, meanwhile, will be represented by Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) head Hisarcıklıoğlu, who also acts as the leader of the Business 20 group. Hisarcıkoğlu will be accompanied in Davos by a number of Turkey’s top businesspeople, who also lead specialized B-20 taskforces.
