An Istanbul court has temporarily suspended three Fenerbahçe officials, including chairman Aziz Yıldırım, daily Hürriyet reported on its website.

According to the ruling, Yıldırım, along with Şekip Mosturoğlu and İlhan Ekşioğlu, would lose the right in all football activity.

The three officials were previously given prison sentences for their involvement in a match-fixing scandal that became public on July 3, 2011. The decision was pending appeal.

The court decision came on the day when European football’s governing body, UEFA, was expected to announce its decision on its own match-fixing probe regarding the 2010-2011 Turkish football season.
