Chris Pfeiffer took advantage of a nearby car accident and performed a stunning show for crowds stuck in a traffic jam on the Galata Bridge. Fishermen and tourists were among the audience. Pfeiffer was on his way to the MotoPlus Motorcycle Fair.Pfeiffer hopped on his motorbike, drove out of the truck he was traveling with and shocked everyone with his amazing moves.
Tourists taking photos of the city’s view turned their lenses toward the action and fishermen put fishing lines aside to watch Pfeiffer perform.
Fascinating moves
Famous for his stunt riding, freestyle, trial and enduro off-road styles, Pfeiffer showed off a few turning and jumping moves. Considering himself lucky for not getting caught by the traffic police, Pfeiffer said he was excited to meet his fans and motorbike lovers in Turkey.
Pfeiffer is sponsored by the energy drink Red Bull.
In 1997 he broke a world record when he made a long jump without a ramp over 33 people lying side by side. In 2000 he broke another world record when he did 15 wheelie circles in 30 seconds. A wheelie circle is a trick where one of the motorcycle’s tires is in the air and the driver turns the bike in a circle. His latest record was in 2004 when he performed a 115 degree overhanging wheelie, which involves flinging his legs in front of him while doing a wheelie.
Pfeiffer, who started riding motorbikes when he was five years old, has received many awards in European and world championships since 1985.
In 2006 he won the most prestigious U.S. Streetbike Freestyle Competition and the legendary StuntWars in Florida. After that Pfeiffer won all three rounds of the European Stunt Riding Championships. In 2007 he was the champion of the Indoor Streetbike Freestyle World Championships.
Pfeiffer, 38, will be performing at the MotoPlus Motorcycle Fair at CNR Expo fair center until Feb. 8.
