Students awarded in Doğan ceremony

Some 155 undergraduate communications students received a host of prizes at the 24th Young Communicators’ Competition organized by the Aydın Doğan Foundation (ADV) in Istanbul’s Hilton Convention Center on Dec. 18.A total of 1,351 students from 31 universities participated in the competition with 1,163 different projects in various fields including written news, research and investigation, interview, documentary, photography, advertisement, public relations and social media. Akdeniz University in the Mediterranean province of Antalya topped the list of prize winners with 19 prizes, while Erciyes University in the Central Anatolian province of Kayseri came second place with 16.
Some 155 students from 21 universities won prizes in the competition with 80 different projects. Among them, Merve Özbek from Akdeniz University received the winner prize in written news category, while Belgin Durak from Erciyes University won the first prize in television news, and Merve Peker, Ege Öztayfun, Deniz Dağlar Atalay and Taner Aykut from Ege University shared the winning prize in advertisement campaign with their joint project. Sports Minister Suat Kılıç, ADV Chair and Doğan Holding Honorary Chairman Aydın Doğan, ADV Deputy Chair Sema Işıl Doğan, daily Hürriyet Chairwoman Vuslat Doğan Sabancı, Doğan Holding CEO Yahya Üzdiyen, Turkey Journalists Association (TGC) Chairman Orhan Erinç were also present in the ceremony.
