Steel exports exceed $5 bln

Turkey’s steel exports have reached $5.3 billion in the first four months of the year. In April alone, steel exports exceeded $1.33 billion, registering a 3.9 increase from the previous four months, according to data released by the Steel Exporters Unions.Turkey exported the most steel to the Middle East followed by Europe. The Middle East received 2.6 million tons of Turkish steel.
Europe came in second with 765,000 tons of steel imports from Turkey and North Africa came in third.
In terms of the greatest increase in exports, West Africa saw the highest jump in steel imports from Turkey followed by the non European Union countries and Latin America.
