Spanish firms to rush Turkey

An official visit of a Turkish governmental delegation to Spain led by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan earlier this week have started to bear fruits, with Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan saying yesterday that a number of Spanish companies will boost Turkey investments.Spanish firms give priority to Turkey in their external investments, Çaglayan said tin written statement released yesterday.
Spanish BBVA, CAF, Inditex, Mapfre, Essentium, Comsa, Mango, Tecnicas Reunidas and Gestamp companies, which are operating in banking, insurance, transportation, textile and automotive sectors in Turkey, stated they would extend their businesses and continue with their investments in Turkey, said Çağlayan.
Spanish FCC, Gas Natural and Red Electrica companies stated they were planning to make investments in Turkey, he also said, noting that those companies were operating in construction, gas, energy, and electricity distribution areas relatively.
Çağlayan said he observed during the visit that several Spanish companies, which were currently operating in Turkey, would extend their businesses while several other companies were planning to invest in the country .
