Soldiers, militants killed in clashes in southeastern Turkey

Two soldiers and numerous militants were killed last night in clashes between the military and suspected members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the eastern province of Hakkari, Doğan news agency has reported.
The clashes erupted in a rural area between Bağlar Village and Zorgeçit field in the province’s Şemdinli district as military forces were conducting an operation in the region.
Reinforcements have been dispatched to the area and an operation supported by the Air Force is continuing.
