Soldier visited killed soldier's grave a day before his own death

One of the soldiers killed in yesterday’s ammunition explosion in the western province of Afyonkarahisar attended the funeral of another soldier killed in a recent militant attack just the previous day, daily Radikal has reported.

Cüneyt Akkuş had updated his Facebook profile on Sept. 4, saying he had cried at the grave of Sami Çiftçi, a soldier from Afyonkarahisar that was killed earlier in the week by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the southeastern province of Şırnak’s Beytüşşebap district.
 
Akkuş was killed barely a day after the update in the ammunition blast, which claimed the lives of 25 Turkish soldiers.
