A cold front coming from the Balkans is expected to hit Turkey today and last for a few days.

Snowfall is expected to fall at intervals in Istanbul, according to reports from the General Directorate of Meteorology.

More than 200 village roads in the eastern provinces of Sivas and Tunceli are entirely clogged by snow, and many schools suspended their classes for two days in Elazığ and Malatya provinces.
According to reports some villages in Sivas are under 70 cm of snow.

Blizzards in the Central Anatolian provinces of Konya and Karaman also closed schools due to poor weather conditions. Heavy snow brought life to a deadlock in Istanbul last week as well.
