Six inmates seriously injury guard, escape from Hatay prison

Six inmates escaped from a prison in southern province of Hatay’s Samandağ district, seriously injuring a guard in the process, Anadolu Agency has reported Jan. 15.

Six inmates ran away from the K1-type closed prison, although two were captured by the security forces soon after their escape. 

Police are continuing to search for the other four inmates. Security at the border with Syria has also been increased to prevent the four from attempting to escape from the country.
