Global competitiveness in the post-crisis era will be even more challenging, the head of the Turkish Industry & Business Association (TÜSİAD) Ümit Boyner said yesterday.Foreign trade processes should be simplified in order to reinforce the Turkish economy’s competitive edge, she said at a meeting where TÜSİAD’s “Foreign Trade Logistics in Turkey” was revealed. “It is important to have an adequate logistics infrastructure to meet the increasing [local] exports volume, as well as simpler trade processes,” she said.
Turkey has taken steps to simplify foreign trade transactions, and TÜSİAD is contributing to this process with an awareness that Turkish customs legislation should comply with European Union legislation, in accordance with the customs union between parties, Boyner added.
