Shoe exports increase 20 pct

Turkey’s shoe exports increased more than 20 percent between January and July compared with the same period last year, said yesterday the Shoe Manufacturing Industrialists Association of Turkey (TASD) President İslam Şeker.

The exports target of $1 billion by the end of 2015 wşll bve surpassed thanks to achievements in design and brandization, he said in a written statement.

Some $334.3 million of exports were made in the first seven months of the year, accordign to the association data. The share of shoe exports in leather and leather godds exports category hşt 37.2 percent.
