Sheep gives birth to sextuplet lambs in central Turkey

A sheep in the Anatolian province of Niğde gave birth to sextuplet lambs in a rare occurrence today.The "Akkaraman" breed of sheep normally has a twin birth ratio of only 4 to 5 percent, according to veteriner.cc.
The sheep's owner Sürur Ceran said it was the first time he witnessed such a thing and he was quite surprised to see his sheep giving birth to six lambs.
Niğde Provincial Director of Farming Nizamettin Bahan said the Akkaraman sheep giving birth to sextuplet lambs was an "exceptional incident."
