The Turkish Justice Ministry has approved a list of deputies to visit Abdullah Öcalan, the jailed leader of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), private broadcaster CNNTürk has reported.

The mission is set to pay the visit on Feb. 23 in what will be the second such journey as part of the ongoing peace process after an initial trip on Jan. 3.

The Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) had provided the Justice Ministry yesterday with a list of nominees that included deputies Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Pervin Buldan and Altan Tan.

The stalemate that had emerged between the government and the BDP over the composition of the delegation was solved following Öcalan’s intervention, according to reports.

The names were announced in a written statement by the BDP following a meeting yesterday that lasted many hours in a bid to end the uncertainty over who would participate in the second trip to see Öcalan.
