Sakıp Sabancı art awards presented

Organized for the 20th time, this year’s Sakıp Sabancı art awards have been presented at a ceremony. The aim is to give recognition to the young artistic talents of Turkey.

Outstanding students from Hacı Sabancı Foundation, Mimar Sinan Unviersity, received their awards at a ceremony organized at the Sabancı Museum. Mimar Sinan Unviersity rector Prof. Dr. Yalçın Karayağız said the young students were starting out in their artistic lives as professionals and the Sabancı Foundation would support them throughout.

“We send our gratitude to the Sabancı family who have always supported young artists,” he said:
Türkan Sabancı also spoke at the ceremony. She said they were proud of supporting young people.

“We believe that these young people will present our country in the best way and these people raise our hope for the future.”

The young students also presented their works to Sabancı.

Bedri Baykam, painter, and theater actress Gülriz Sururi, were at the ceremony. Students who came in first place received 40 units of Cumhuriyet gold, those in second place received 25 and in third received 15.
