Russian carmaker halts production

The shutdown came as Health and Social Development Minister Tatyana Golikova said 3,200 workers were to be laid off at the factory, while another 12,500 had been put on leave, Interfax reported. The carmaker shut its main conveyer belt due to problems with parts suppliers, RIA-Novosti reported.
