Replikas on stage at Salon IKSV

“Replikas”, an experimental rock band from Istanbul, will be performing at Salon. Their debut album “Köledoyuran” (2000) and second album “Dadaruhi” (2002) were released by Ada Music. The albums won recognition by music critiques and were pointed out to be among the best the local market has to offer by way of home-grown rock. The band’s third album “Avaz” was produced by Wharton Tiers, who is known for his work with bands such as Sonic Youth, Pussy Galore, Helmet and Dinosaur Jr. The album was released in 2005. The band took part in Fatih Akın’s documentary “Crossing the Bridge” and pieces from their albums have also been used in various short and feature-length movies. Since March 2013, the band has been sharing its unreleased recordings on soundcloud.com, an audio archive website containing sound clips across a wide variety of genres. “EP No: 1”, containing seven new instrumental tracks, was released in May 2013.
