Red Priest on stage at İş Sanat

Red Priest, British Baroque instrumental group, will take the stage at İş Sanat on Dec 12.

İş Sanat continues its classical concert series with Red Priest, a British Baroque instrumental group, which is named after the flame-haired priest, Antonio Vivaldi. The concert will take place on Dec. 12.

Red Priest is the only early music group in the world to have been compared in the press to the Rolling Stones, Jackson Pollock, the Marx Brothers, Spike Jones and the Cirque du Soleil. Described by music critics as “visionary and heretical,” “outrageous yet compulsive,” “wholly irreverent and highly enlightened,” “completely wild and deeply imaginative,” the acoustic foursome has given several hundred sell-out concerts at many of the world’s most prestigious festivals.

Red Priest promises a different musical experience to classical music lovers with its rule breaking attitude and rock-chamber concert approach to early music. In America and the Far East, the group collaborates with the Canadian baroque/Cape-Breton violinist David Greenberg in place of Julia Bishop.
