Puppini Sisters bring swing back

İş Sanat is hosting the outstanding pop-jazz vocal group, The Puppini Sisters this month. With a modern twist to the harmonies and vocal pop of the 1930s and 1940s, The Puppini Sisters sing close harmony arrangements. Citing the sister singing groups of the 30s and 40s, such as The Andrews Sisters and The Boswell Sisters, The Puppini’s soon developed their own unique style of vocal-harmony based music. On their first two albums, Betcha Bottom Dollar and The Rise and Fall of Ruby Woo, they combined new versions of classics, jazzy reinventions of rock hits and original songs. Regarded as a part of retro’s futuristic vanguard, The Puppini Sisters’ have also been embraced for their re-workings of pop-cult classics such as “I Will Survive,” “Wuthering Heights” and “Walk Like an Egyptian.”
