Protester throws shoe at Turkish main opposition leader

A protester threw his shoe at Turkey’s main opposition leader during a meeting focused on finding solutions to the problems faced by retired people.

While throwing his shoe at Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on Jan. 8, the protester, identified as Yunus Emrah S. ,40, shouted “Your politics ruined my father’s life.”

“I suppose the health of the person who did this is not stable,” said Kılıçdaroğlu shortly after the incident, which took place at a hotel hosting a meeting titled “Problems of Retirees and Solution Proposals.”
