Policeman killed in snow mask prank

One policeman was killed and two more were wounded when a police officer unknowingly opened fire on his colleagues after they showed up at his doorstep wearing snow masks, private broadcaster NTV has reported.

Several officers reportedly planned a prank on Yasin Başoğlu, a policeman on duty in the Black Sea province of Artvin, and subsequently showed up on his doorstep disguised in snow masks.

In response to what he thought were intruders, Başoğlu opened fire, killing one policeman and wounding two others.

Başoğlu was arrested after the incident.
