Police save sexual assailant from lynching in Turkey’s south

A 59-year-old man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old boy was rescued from an attempting lynching in the southern province of Adana on Oct. 18, Doğan News Agency has reported.
The boy, identified only by his initials N.A., started to shout in the middle of the street, claiming that a man, A.T., was abusing him in the Sarıyakup neighborhood of the Seyhan district.

A crowd of residents soon gathered in response to the boy’s cries.

Locals caught the suspect as he was trying flee, attacking him, after which police arrived at the scene. 
The boy’s family has filed a complaint about A.T.

After an interrogation and a medical examination at the Forensic Medicine Institute., A.T. was detained, despite rejecting the charge of sexual assault, saying he had been slandered.

A court subsequently ordered the arrest of A.T. on charges of sexual assault.
