Police save lethargic dolphin from fishing net on Istanbul beach

ISTANBUL

Police officers helped release a tangled up dolphin washed ashore in Istanbul’s Avcılar district on Sept. 25.
 
Officers intervened to help the dolphin, whose tail was caught in a fishing net, without waiting for the experts since the animal looked exhausted.. 
 
They first pulled the dolphin up with the help of a boat and then cut the net to set the sea mammal free.
 
The net was then take ashore and destroyed to prevent a recurring incident.
