A Turkish soldier was taken by suspected members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır on May 27, security sources have said.A masked group set up a roadblock on the highway linking the districts of Lice and Hani in Diyarbakır, checking the identity cards of drivers.
The group, which was reportedly carrying Molotov cocktails and guns, detained a specialist sergeant who was driving in one of the cars.
Security forces have launched a search and rescue operation for the soldier.
