ISTANBUL - Hürriyet Daily News
“Little orchestra” Pink Martini is giving a concert in the western province of İzmir’s Çeşme district on June 8. The concert starts at 9:30 p.m. and tickets are available at Biltix booths. Formed in 1994 by pianist Thomas Lauderdale, Pink Martini draws inspiration from music from all over the world – crossing the genres of classical, jazz and old-fashioned pop. The band has collaborated and performed with numerous artists, such as Jimmy Scott, Carol Channing, Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, Jane Powell, Henri Salvador, Chavela Vargas, filmmaker Gus Van Sant, and Courtney Taylor Taylor of the Dandy Warhols.
